Why a bowtie, well that a good story that we are happy to share. While at graduate school in Temple, a renowned prothodontist cut off Dr. Jarquins tie, and gave him his first bowtie, stating "dentist don't wear ties." At the time Dr. Jarquin did not fully understand the depth of this action for in many situations in the dental office, it would be disadvantageous and possible dangerous to have a normal tie.
